2019 in Review

2019 is going out with a bang, and we are looking forward to welcoming in the new year, and new possibilities for EARTH Centre (after some much deserved rest!).
2019 was EARTH Centre’s first fully operational year as a Non-Profit Company. As the end of the year draws closer, we would like to share with you some of experiences with you.
First and foremost, we would officially like to welcome Mary Slack from the Mary Oppenheimer and Daughters Organisation (MODO), on board as the EARTH Centre Patron. It means the world to us that this incredible woman believes in us, supports our work (in many ways!) and will put her name behind ours.
EVENTS –
We hosted a number of events throughout the year to not only raise funds, but also awareness of our involvement with and dedication to the disabled community. Amongst some other smaller events, we hosted: two Equinox drumming events – in March and September; our annual Golf Day; and our Fun and Market Day. Together, and with your help, these events raised around R150 000-00.
We were also exceptionally blessed to be the beneficiaries of three other events.
Party for a Cause was hosted on 2 August, once again by the one-and-only, bubbly and bold Ruth Lockwood. Much of the event was sponsored by White and Case as well as Santa Fe Relocation. The evening raised over R25 000-00, with additional donations of around R15 000-00 being received thereafter. Peat and Blueberry attended the party as honourable guests with Tasneem Dindar (Instructor) and Natalie Stobäus (Operations Manager). They were the life of the party and helped everyone have a grand time!
The Club 32 Golf Day was hosted at the Randpark Golf Club on the 17th of October. The event raised an incredible R20 000-00 for the Centre. Thank you to Diané Hendrikse and Kevin du Preez for their support once again.
We were further privileged to be the beneficiary of a quiz evening, hosted by the Project Group. This fun and thrilling evening was held at the Bryanston Country Club on the 31st of October. Funds were raised by entering a team of 8 to participate or by making a direct donation. The evening ran without a hitch and Quiz Master Tom Maydon was absolutely spectacular. The event raised in excess of R40 000.
Thank you to everyone that supported us throughout the year:
